Short description

Target Group
As a participant in this training, you have to be an experienced manager or entrusted with managerial responsibilities for the results of which you are accountable. You should have at least two years experience and a completed university or professional education, or professionally operating at a similar level. You wish to learn how to manage and coach your staff, help them expand their problem solving capabilities and allow them to learn independently. Your goal will be to develop your team members’ competences in order to optimise collective results.

Course content
The primary objective of this training is to enhance your management performance, with the company’s objectives in mind. Your personal business circumstances and learning objectives are paramount. The course comprises both theory and practice with an emphasis on ‘doing’. You will be coached and find the opportunity to coach others throughout the entire course, and will enjoy regular feedback.

  • The concept of coaching as an instrument for result-oriented and self-management
  • The relationship between the coaching manager and the organisation’s objectives
  • Coaching cycles for managers
  • Coaching skills
  • Dilemmas between the role of the coach and that of the manager
  • Dealing with staff resistance
  • Intuition and inspiration
  • While coaching competences during the course, you will form a discussion group with other participants

In between training modules, you will get together to discuss assignments and exchange experiences.

Results 
You will better understand the managerial role of being a coach and will discover your own profile and style as a coaching manager. You will be work according to the principles of Result Oriented Management. You will work in accordance with the Coaching Cycle, being able to fulfill the double role of coach and assessor, and adapting your management style in line with staff development. You will support your staff developing their competences and inspire them to do so. You will have learned to understand the mechanisms that play a role in developing self-management skills. As a result, you will be able to operate in a people-oriented as well as a result-oriented manner, in both your roles of manager and coach.

Duration
2 to 4 days depends on the training goals.
