IPMA Certification

Short description

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) has defined four levels of certification for Project Management, from D (low) to A (high). In the Competence Baseline (CCB), in accordance with international agreements, you will find guidelines to what knowledge and experience levels are needed for each of these four levels. Schouten Training offers trainings which will lead to Certification for the levels D, B and C.

The D-certificate
As a ‘Certified Project Management Associate’ you possess the adequate knowledge to assist a project manager in various fields, or to act as substitute when the project manager is temporarily unavailable. Examination: knowledge test (multiple choice and open questions). Description of a typical project environment: internal projects with practically no responsibility for external contacts.  

The C-certificate 
As a ‘Certified Project Manager’ you will be able to manage projects on your own, and in a complex project, give broad support to the project manager. Examination: knowledge (knowledge test) and project management skills (project report and an interview with two assessors). Description of a typical project environment: comprises several disciplines within the same organisation. 

The B-certificate
As a ‘Certified Senior Project Manager’, you will be able to manage large and complex projects to a successful completion. Examination: knowledge, skills and experience by producing a project summary, a project report, and an interview with two assessors. Description of a typical project environment: multidisciplinary teams from different independent organisations and departments put together for the project.
 
The A-certificate
As a ‘Certified Projects Director’ you will be able to manage the entire projects portfolio of an organisation. Examination: knowledge, skills and experience by producing a project summary, a programme/project report, and an interview with two assessors. Description of a typical project environment: diverse multidisciplinary teams from a large collection of organisations, operating in several countries.
