How to become a licensed business partner

1.INITIAL TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR LICENSEES

Schouten Training provides an initial training programme for professionals for international partners containing a mandatory assessment and a tailor-made Training for Trainers programme leading towards a certificate of the International Register of Certified Educational Services. To become a licensed business partner you should take the following steps:

Assessments
The Schouten Training Assessment assesses the potential of an individual/ professional to become a Schouten Training certified Trainer. The Schouten Training Assessment focuses on:

Assessment plan Training for Trainers
Assessment step 1:
Self-assessment containing:


  • Career planner (360 degrees) – Schouten Training web enabling tool
  • Analysis of competences by means of self assessment of your own profile and soft-skills competences according to Schouten Training Trainer’s standards and compare.
  • Personal Development Plan

Assessment step 2:
Personal goal-setting interview and discussion on self-assessment with assessor: make or adjust plan assessment

Assessment step 3.
Learning tests: exercises dictated by assessor focussing on the knowledge and skills:

  • Conceptual: leading learning concept of individual trainer by story telling and examples of own training experiences
  • Knowledge of learning theories and or learning concepts
  • Practical test on designing small educational situation
  • Practical test on giving performance
  • Practical test on handling educational group activity
  • Supporting developing and integrating new behaviour
  • Face to face exercise
  • The stopping exercise

The practical assessment will be done in a group of (potential) trainers to create direct learning and shared learning goals.

Training For Trainers
More and more people recognise soft skills to be important to their success in both their private and professional lives. Soft skills training therefore is in great demand. However, there is lack of soft skills trainers. Schouten Training is specialised in soft skills training in Europe. 2. SPECIALISED TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR LICENSEES


 

A. Personal Skills

Strong ‘soft skills’ are key to successful performance in work and life. If employees want to develop their communication skills, they will become more effective and successful in work and personal life, or if they want to steer and plan a future career, this is the field of training for them.

Assertiveness Training
When people make a request, you tend to say yes when you really should not. Or in certain situations, you end up not doing what you were actually planning to. Your performance is generally satisfactory, but sometimes the situation seems to take control. You therefore tend to stay clear of awkward situations and conflicts. You may be seeking for ways to be assertive without upsetting relationships with others. This training will help you to speak up and stand firm. To participate, you should be operating at senior secondary vocational/higher professional educational level.

Personal Effectiveness Training
You generally perform well in your organisation, but in certain situations you don’t act according to your own strategy or plan. When someone makes a request, you often agree. You avoid difficult situations and conflicts. You would like to speak out more, but are not sure how or feel insecure.

Presentation Skills Training
The course offers a balanced combination of theory, practical exercises, relaxation training and feedback (also using video). During the training we will focus on your own business circumstances. You will be able to develop your own presentation style. Allow yourself the opportunity to experiment with new behaviours in safe surroundings. The course is being led by an experienced trainer, expert in behavioural change and communication training.

Time Management Training
‘You can’t manage time, but you can manage yourself in the time available to you!’. During this training, you will work towards increased awareness of your personal desires, needs and targets, and of the objectives of your organization. Meanwhile your options will become clear to you. In this course we link theory to personal situational exercises, and devote considerable attention to how you can apply your new insights in practice in your own professional situation.

Communication Skills Training

‘Action learning’ is what this course is all about. You will participate in practical observation and listening assignments and dialogues, and learn to communicate your wishes and opinions clearly. You will also learn to react at the right moment in ‘difficult’ conversations or meetings. The course is being led by an experienced trainer, expert in behavioural change and communication training. 

Effective Communications Training
This course is about ’Action learning’. Following a theoretical introduction on language and communication, we concentrate primarily on practical exercises. 

Stress Management Training
What factors lead to stressful situations in work and life and how to deal with stressful situations? Where is the stress and how can you reduce tensions? Where are your psychological blocks and how can you break through them? How can you get more balance in work and life responsibilities? These are the types of questions we cover in this training course. You will also discover the connections between events, thinking and behaviour.

Graduates Training
This workshop is all about ‘Action learning’. You will learn to improve your basic communication skills and how to be relaxed in your presentation. You will practise to communicate your wishes and opinions clearly, and to ask the questions you have. The right reaction at the right moment during an interview is another aspect you will practise in this workshop. The course is being led by two trainers, both experts in behavioural change and communication training.


 

B. Management and Leadership Skills

Many people in management positions are facing questions on leadership: how to lead people within an organisation, how to manage processes to achieve an organisation’s targets. What really matters for successful leadership is interaction between a manager and the employees.  As a manager, on strategic, tactical and operational level you will have to deal with your own personal performance. Find the style of leadership to stimulate development of your employees and always keep an eye on leading the business. There will be lots of questions and you will need solutions to intervene in the process, to enhance efficiency and productivity, to develop quality and innovating power, to develop your employees’ talents; and most of all, to accomplish results with your organisation. 
Professional leadership contains several aspects of leadership: personal style, communication, coaching, teambuilding and entrepreneurial skills. The courses below support the leader from starting till professional leader.

Action Oriented Leadership
In this training you will be dealing actively with questions that are associated with a management position and with your personal ambitions and potential. During the training we will use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) which helps to indicate your personal preferences. The MBTI is a unique method to concretise your personal value orientation and emotional preferences. You will gain an insight into managerial roles and corresponding competences. You will learn to assess your own position with respect to these roles and competences – in fact, your own ‘management ability’. By discussing and practicing tangible situations, you will be able to develop your Personal Plan of Action. In this plan, you will substantiate your ultimate decision regarding a possible management position: Can I work in management? Do I need to make an action planning?

The Manager as a Team builder
This training takes an active and dynamic approach to instruction. We will be linking theoretical input directly to practical exercises, which sometimes take place at an external location. We will devote considerable attention to how you can put your new insights to practice in your professional situation.

Professional Leadership
The core of this training is four different aspects of Leadership. Topics covered:

  • Personal Leadership
  • Result Oriented Leadership
  • The Leader as a Coach
  • The leader as an Entrepreneur

 

C.  Project Management

Projects are mostly complex, multidisciplinary and often even divided into several smaller projects, organisations
and nationalities. On top of that, there is usually pressure to accomplish results in a (very) short period of time.
The customer, the project manager and the participants are expected to be decisive, able to lead a team and to contribute effectively to the team effort.

Project Management for Project- and Team Leaders
Successful project management combines three aspects: a professional approach to leading a project (the ‘ME’ component), collaboration and managing relations (how to work together, the ‘WE’ component) and use of the right management tools (the ‘IT’ component). This training starts with IT in module 1: the methods and techniques of project management. ME and WE are part of module 2.

Project Management for Project- and  Team Leaders (IT-Component)
This training will provide you with a complete overview of project management according to our Totally Integrated Project Management or TIPI-Approach®. Group dynamic processes and technical aspects, and the relationship between them, will all be discussed.

D.  Organisational Development

Becoming a specialist on organisational development
The programme will offer a mix of cognitive and experience based modules, and will lead to an integral understanding of organisation and change and your own role as change agent, leader or consultant. The programme will be developed and executed in cooperation with the Schouten & Nelissen University. During the programme, you will work as a leader or consultant on an actual organizational development issue in your own practice.
Of course, you will get supervision on this project. You will have to study literature, participate in peer group consultation, attend training sessions and write a thesis as part of the programme.
